Burlington -Nachtclub nectar is not opened again within the company.

The popular music event location in the city center has been an integral part of the local scene for almost 50 years. In May, Nectar's management announced that the Main Street Club would close after the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival for the summer. At that time, General Manager Tyler Nettleon expressed hope that the event location would reopen in autumn and that the club only “pushed a break … When we navigate the immense challenges in the city center of Burlington and the music scene in general”.

But the attempts to convey a new deal with the landlord of the building, Joe Handy, were unsuccessful and the club's doors were braided for a few days last week. Mobile phone did not respond to inquiries about comments.

The chains are gone, but also the club. Nettleon and other former employees have started to remove sound and lighting equipment and decades for memorabilia.

In May, Nettlleton sketched the challenges that Nectar had opposed since the purchase, from changes in postpandemy in the live music industry to the difficulties to conduct a company during Burlington Big streets BTV initiative. This construction project caused numerous street closures last year, including a long time when the Main Street was barricaded by fences and teeth.

“The truth is, we were hit hard,” Nettleton wrote and the former booking agent Ryan Clausen in a press release in May. “The Main Street Construction Project has asked for a more severe tribute than we expected. And the cultural heartbeat that once defined in downtown Burlington. Fewer people go on these streets.

While Nectar is not reopened at its original location, sources with the club stated that there are ongoing discussions about the future of the Nectar and his inheritance brand, from the search for a new event location to staging shows in other clubs under the name of the nectar under the name of the nectar.

Despite the uncertainty in connection with its future, the night club still won two seven -day readers this year: Best small live music hotspot (nectar) and the best place to dance (the lounge at Nctar's).
