PREVIOUSLY: Jay Blades, the British TV presenter, who is best known for the fronting of the BBC show “The Repair Shop”, was charged with two rapes.
The West Mercia police confirmed the allegations against the 55-year-old broadcaster, who is now to be released in court next Wednesday.
“Jason Blades, 55, from Claverley in Shropshire, was charged with two rape cases. He will be released on August 13, 2025 before Telford Magistrates's court,” said a spokesman for the police.
“The Repair Shop”, which was produced by Warner Bros. Discovery production company Ricochet, was introduced in 2017 and sees members of the public who repair their esteemed possessions and heirlooms.
The show turned out to be a hit that turned from a daily slot to prime time at BBC and became a well -known name. In 2023 it won a BAFTA price for a Royal Special Edition in which King Charles (then Prince Charles) was a guest and brought a watch and a vase to repair.
Blades also released “Celebrity Master Circle”, “The Great Celebrity Bake Off” and “Strictly Come Dancing” and a BBC documentary film “Jay Blades: Learning to read at 51”. He was honored with an MBE in 2021.
The host is currently waiting for a trial for separate charges for control and forced behavior against his alienated woman. He was not guilty of the indictment, which refers to the time between January 1, 2023 and September 12, 2024 – at a court hearing last October.
Blades resigned from the presentation of the “repair workshop” last year.
