The lawyer of Sean “Diddy” Combs said that they had turned to the government of President Donald Trump in terms of potential pardon.
Last month, the music mogul was found for the prostitution for guilty for two transport companies, but acquitted of sex trade and conspiracy costs.
“In my understanding, we spoke in terms of forgiveness and had discussions,” said lawyer Nicole Westmoreland Cnn on Tuesday. Her comments came a day after the US district judge Arun Subramanian refused to be released from prison when he was convicted in October.
In May, Trump said before the conviction of Combs during a press conference that he would “certainly look at the facts” regarding the case of the mogul because he hadn't “observed” too precisely.
Then when he was asked if he was last week during an interview NewsmaxTrump replied: “I was very friendly with him, I got great with him and he seemed to be a nice guy. I didn't know him well. But when I ran to the office, he was very hostile.”
The president added that “we do not like to have things our judgment”, but Combs' “terrible statements” about him in the past make him “more difficult to do”.
Despite Trump's latest comments on a potential forgiveness, Westmoreland said Cnn This is a very hopeful person, and I believe that he remains hopeful “about his chances.
The Hollywood reporter stretched to the white house, but they refused to make a comment.
After a jury had acquitted combs because of its most serious charges, the hip-hop mogul now has a maximum penalty of 20 years, while he had previously faced life in prison. The two prostitution -related crimes as part of the ACT man each have 10 years.
