More than six years after leaving Fox's Rich In the middle of a turmoil about an allegedly staged attack, Jussie Smollett returns to the network.
Smollett will be part of the network's competition show Special Forces: The hardest test in the world in autumn. The actor and singer is one of 18 celebrities who accept a number of challenges that reflect that of the special military units.
The other participants of the season are Kody Brown (TLCS Sister women), Brittany Cartwright (Bravo's The valley), Randall Cobb (former NFL player), Eric Decker (former NFL player), Jessie James Decker (country music artist), Andrew East (former NFL player), Shawn Johnson East (with gold medals Excellent Olympic Gymnast), Mark ESTES (“Internet-Personality”), Gia Giudice, Teresa Giudice ((“Internet personality”)New Jersey's Real Housewives), Chanel Iman (model), Brianna Lapaglia (“Internet Personality” Alias Brianna Chickenfry), Johnny Manziel (former Heisman Trophy winner and NFL player), Eva Marcille (model and actress), Ravi V. Patel (Fox's Animal control), Christie Pearce Rampone (World Cup winner of the US women's football team) and Nick Young (former NBA player).
The line -up also shows some family relationships: Eric and Jessie James Decker are married, as are Andrew East and Shawn Johnson East. Teresa and Gia Giudice are mother and daughter.
Smollett played in Fox 'Musik-Industrory-Drama Rich for five seasons from 2015-19. In January 2019 he claimed that he was attacked in Chicago, where Rich Filmed, from two black men who called homophobic blurring. The two men then said Smollett paid them to stage the attack, and Smollett was accused of submitting a wrong police report. The fees were dropped later after Smollett paid a fine and made a non -profit. His character was written out Rich'S last season, even though he was under contract with the series.
In 2020, however, he was again charged by a special prosecutor and convicted of five cases of crimes that deal with false reports in 2021 in 2021. He was six days in prison before he was released. The Supreme Court of Illinois raised its conviction in 2024 and decided that the second indictment of Smollets violates proper procedural rights.
In the entire case, Smollett claimed that he did not staged the crime. He recently took a Netflix documentary with the title ” The truth about Jussie Smollett? That will be a premiere on August 22nd.
Special forces will be on Fox on September 25th.
