“There were many tears.” Robert Trujillo from Metallica shares his memories of Ozzy Osbourne's “very, very nice” private funeral service

The Metallica bass player Robert Trujillo shared his memories of the private funeral service for Ozzy Osbourne on July 31.

Trujillo, who played bass in the Osbourne solo band at the end of the 90s and jointly wrote a number of songs on Osbourne's 2001 album Down to earthIt was one of the mourners at the service, which took place on the grounds of the Buckinghamshire's estate of the deceased singer, together with the three surviving members of Black Sabbath – Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward – Slipknots Corey Taylor, Zakk Wylde, Marilyn Manson and more.

“It had rained at the beginning of the service … and then the weather would change and different things happen. When Kelly Kelly [Osbourne] Sang, her texts flew – the wind has taken her texts away. It was almost as if Ozzy had fun with her. And when geezer spoke, the sun actually spoke out. I'm not joking. The sun actually came out and then it was nice from that moment – a very magical moment.
