Dolly Parton offers Kelly Clarkson, Reba Mcentire Advice after Brandon Blackstock's death

Dolly Parton has some words of wisdom and consolation for her friends Kelly Clarkson and Reba Mcentire while mourning Brandon Blackstock's death.

Sit with Entertainment tonight On Monday, the singer-songwriter “Joelene” was asked if she had the chance to speak to Clarkson, who was once married to Blackstock, or Mcentire, his former stepmother, since the talent manager died of skin cancer last week.

While Parton had not yet associated themselves with them, she said that she soon thought of the nature of mourning and healing. “I think you only have to be grateful for the years you had had with someone, and you just try to remember the best of all of this,” she said. “Take your energy that you then gave you, and you recycle it and let it become part of you. Simply honor your memory and know that you are in a better place than we are today.”

Clarkson and Blackstock were married from 2013 to 2022 and served as their manager while they were together. After the dissolution of her marriage, she was still with her two children: daughter River Rose (11) and son Remy Alexander, 9.

Blackstock died on August 7, surrounded by family in his house in Butte, Mont. He was 48.

Mcentire was married to Blackstock's father Narvel Blackstock from 1989 to 2015. On Monday she commented on A moving public tribute that her son Shelby Blackstock wrote to his half -brother. “Very well said, Shelby,” said Parton in response to his friendly words. “Yes, we will miss him so much.”

Parton – who told Et“I love Reba and I love Kelly” – also mourns the loss of a loved one. Her husband of almost 60 years, Carl Dean, died in March, and the Country Music Superstar was open about her feelings.
