The trailer for Josh Safdies with excitement awaited film “Marty Supreme” shows Timothée Chalamet in the 1950s as a Ping -Pong player Marty Mauser. The synopsis teases: “A young man with a dream that nobody goes to hell and back to size.”
Chalamet plays in the film to Gwyneth Paltrow, who plays a famous film star, an affair on the street with Marty. The far -reaching line -up also includes Fran Drescher as Marty's mother, rapper Tyler, the creator, the magicians Penn Jillette, Odessa A'zion, the personality Kevin O'Leary (also known as Mr. Wonderful) and the Filmmaker Abel Ferrara.
“Marty Supreme”, Josh Safdies has been directed by “Uncut Gems” with his brother Benny Safdie and his first solo feature since his debut in 2008: “The pleasure of being robbed”. Josh Safdie wrote “Marty Supreme” with Ronald Bronstein; The two produce alongside Eli Bush, Anthony Katagas, Chalamet and A24.
The Sportdramedy is a fictional report on the real Marty Reisman, a five-time bronze medalist at the World Tennis Championships, who died in 2012. The cameraman Darius Khondji said at the beginning of this year that Chalamet trained thoroughly to play the ping pong star. “He wanted to be like a real one [professional] Ping -Pong player when he started shooting, ”said Khondji.
Chalamet has long been a pronounced fan of the Safdie Brothers and writes an essay for diversity 2019 about her Adam Sandler thriller “Uncut gemsteine”. “The couple has continuously done contemporary, raw and unchecked work in the past decade, whereby each film is built on the properties of the prior, but never sacrificed their innate size once,” wrote the Oscar-nominated actor.
