HBO Max and Gkids strike exclusive license contract for 20 animation and live action films for adults and live

HBO Max and Gkids will continue their partnership and now house 20 additional live action and animated functions.

From September 1st, the works of Makoto Shinkai will be with “her name”, “Shin Godzilla” and “Perfect Blue” to the titles who have their streaming debut. In HBO Max there is already the Studio Ghibli catalog in the USA, which is distributed by GKIDS.

Discovery. “This deal, in which masterpieces and fan favorites are streamed for the first time, enables us to continue to deliver premium films to our subscribers and to solidify the position of HBO Max as a leading destination in the room.”

The President of Gkids Dave Jestadt added: “We are happy to continue the relationship with HBO Max and bring this exciting package for the US streaming audience. The focus of HBO Max on award-winning, generously defining essential programs fits perfectly with the type of outstanding filmmaking, the GKIDS-Champions Champions.”
