The bare weapon Co-author/director Akiva Schaffer knew that he scored gold in his film with Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson with the wild snowman assembly. But he had to risk his entire job to save it.
“It was polarizing in the script,” said Schaffer as a result of indiewire on Monday on Monday Filmmacher -Toolkit Podcast. “People who really respect like Andy Sandberg when he read it for me, he said: 'Snowman is the best. Don't let her cut it, knowing that it would be exchange. It makes sense if you see the film, but at some point I had to threaten to stop.”
The scene in question is a whole assembly of Frank Drebin Jr. (Neeson) and Beth (Anderson), who have a romantic weekend trip in a cabin. During his trip, the new couple uses a magic book to bring a snowman to life, and the snowman has a threesome with them before it is motivated.

Lonely Island Alum Schaffer, who wrote down the restart with Dan Gregor and Doug Mand, revealed that he shortened the entire snowman sequence to easily remove it if he didn't get his way. In fact, there was an original design of the script, in which the snowman returned at the end of the film that was never shot. But he is validated when he knows that the people who wanted him to take the snowmann assembly out of the film have now only admitted that they were wrong.
“After the first test screen it was the number 1 scene in the film,” said Schaffer. “The people who really fought me after eating a lot of crow without asking myself. I tried to just let her off the hook and go: 'That's okay', but they said: 'No, age, we were wrong.'

“When I came back to bed, it was noted in the author's room that day, and I just saw the whole thing and wrote it in Bullet Point notes and then wrote it to Dan and Doug,” said Schaffer. “The next morning I came to the writer's room and they said: 'Yes, done.'”
Anderson told beforehand Entertainment weekly That she immediately “loved” the snowman assembly when she read her in the script for the first time, although others were not the same.

And as funny as the scene plays in the film, Anderson revealed that it was even funnier when filming.
“She was in bed with us, so the threesome with the snowman was quite interesting,” Anderson told EW from the puppeteer. “There are very specific rules that deal with people in costumes should not speak directly to the puppeteer. And this was a full costume at Hansen level. Inside there is a person with these night vision glasses or whatever they want to call them, and say which way they can turn. It is very complex. It is very robotic.”
